The Kornati islands are a very indented group of islands in central Dalmatia, in Šibenik-Knin county in Croatia. It consists of as many as 89 islands, islets, and reefs with a total area of 220 km2. 1980, the entire area was declared a national park due to the exceptional natural beauty and richness of the underwater world and the diversity of fish species. Only 1/4 of the park is land, while the remaining 3/4 of the park makes sea surface, where fishing is prohibited. The vertical cliffs of the westernmost of the Kornati islands facing the open sea are the most popular phenomenon of this park because they rise vertically up to 50 meters. The National Park is open year-round and you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the natural marine environment, fresh air, and clean sea.
